RC’s Notebook – 2017 Q1 RC Report

Howdys!

From 2017, we started trying something new in the region. And from this year, I’ll be writing a report to let you know what I did in for every three months. Of course, if you have any question, feel free to let me know!
1/1 and 7/1. Area within 10 judges will get RMB 500 for six months, and areas with more than 10 judges will get RMB 50 for each judges access 10. The budget for the first half of 2017 will be:

North：48 judges, RMB 2400
East：53 judges, RMB 2650
Mid：10 judges, RMB 500
South / HK：36 judges, RMB 1800
Northwest：3 judges, RMB 500
Southwest：9 judges, RMB 500
Taiwan： 51 judges, RMB 2550
Korea：49 judges, RMB 2450

The details of the judge fund for the first quarter of 2017 as following:

4. Judge Development

From 2017, the level 1 candidate pre-test requirement will still be with the official one, which means every candidate had judged in 2 events will be able to take the written test, while the tester is still the final arbiter to pass the interview of the candidate or not. If the tester believe the candidate should not pass the L1 test, (s)he has to point it out in the review for the candidate to improve. If after the candidate pass the test, the tester believes the judge is not qualified to be a judge, he has to contact the RC immediately, RC will contact JCC to demote the judge to uncertified if needed.

In the first quarter of this year, we got 4 new L2 judges! HongQuan Zhao (Qingdao), Siyang Li (Hangzhou), Hao Cui (Nanjing) and Jungmin Park (Korea)! We appreciate for everything they did for the community, and we wish all the L2 candidates can make it in the coming future!

5. Exemplar Feedback

We collected everyone’s feedback at the beginning of the year (from Chinese only this time), and are still discussing about it. If you have any other feedback you’d like to talk about the Exemplar program, please feel free to let me know!

6. Judge Name Tag

All the Korean judges will get one name tag with thieir Korean name on it! If you need more than one, please let Woosuk know before this weekend. The tag is RMB 10.

7. Grand Prix Beijing

Grand Prix Beijing will be held on 5/5-7 in Beijing Technology University!
